Installing Website Chat on Tilda
Step-by-step instructions for installing the AlfaChat Website Chat widget on a website built with Tilda.
Adding custom code in Tilda is available only on paid plans. Publishing custom code may also require a verified phone number in your Tilda account.
To install the AlfaChat Website Chat widget on a website built with Tilda, follow the steps below.
Before you begin, make sure you have already created a Website Chat channel in AlfaChat and copied the widget code.
Installing the widget
-
Sign in to your Tilda account.
-
Go to My Sites.
-
Select the website you need and click Edit Site.
-
Open the page where you want to add the Website Chat widget.
If you want the widget to appear on all pages of the website, we recommend adding it to the page used as the site's Header or Footer.
-
Add the T123 - HTML Code block to the page.
-
Open the T123 block settings and paste the widget code generated in AlfaChat.
-
Save the changes.
-
Click Publish to make the changes live on the website.
If the widget is installed in the Header or Footer, make sure that this page is actually assigned as the site's Header or Footer in Tilda settings and is used on the required pages.
Checking the installation
After publishing, open the website and make sure the chat widget appears on the page.
We recommend:
- opening the widget;
- sending a test message;
- checking that the message appears in AlfaChat.
If the test message appears in AlfaChat, the widget has been installed correctly and is ready to use.
